I have this problem with the latest Dapper kernel as of 12/16/2005 (2.6.15-8-386)

This is on a Sony Vaio VGN-S260.  I have the same problem with Hoary.  The
wireless will continue to work after the firmware is automatically restarted,
usually.  It slows down transfers significantly though.
