Summary: Kernel lacks SCSI support at boot time
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kernel-package
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: grasshopper at linuxkungfu.org
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Upon upgrading from breezy to dapper, I'm unable to boot in vmware using a SCSI
root device due to /dev/sda1 not existing. The same operation (in vmware again)
using an IDE root device works wonderfully. I've heard similar complaints on irc.
