Ben, I will post you a dmesg from 2.6.12 kernel if you still need it, i will
have to reload that image. However, I found this post..

describes similar/same problem. Researching found that if I have
/dev/dvb0.demux0 that is problem. I think this is udev rules issue now. To work
around since my last post, Following steps seem to work around

mkdir /dev/dvb/ 
mkdir /dev/dvb/adapter0
mv /dev/dvb0.demux0 /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0 
mv /dev/dvb0.frontend0 /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
mv /dev/dvb0.dvr0 /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0   
mv /dev/dvb0.net0 /dev/dvb/net0

I may be wrong, but problem appears to be udev rules. Let me know if you still
need the dmesg output from 2.6.12. I can reload that image and dump it for you.
