"FIXED" huh?
When might the fix show up via synaptic? Or do I have to compile my own kernel?
I have similar behavior here.
Breezy 5.10, no custom compiles/modules, updated as available
Linux gilgamesh 2.6.12-10-386 #1 Fri Nov 18 11:51:02 UTC 2005 i686 GNU/Linux
Athlon XP 3000+ (2.1 Ghz) Nvidia 5700 Ultra
Logout/reboot/shutdown from UI all cause system to hang with Angry Fruit Salad
on the screen.
Shutdown/reboot from GDM before even logging in has the same effect.
Can't access system remotely, and after hard reboot nothing "interesting"
appears in the saved logs.
If I kill the x server (ctrl-alt-backspace) instead of trying to
logout/shutdown/restart, login again at the console, then do 'sudo halt'
everything behaves as expected.
I was suspicious of my NVidia drivers, so I tried all of this with the stock
'nv' driver; no change in behavior.
No problems on my PII laptop, though.
I'll attach my lsmod info if requested.
