I've got a partition with Dapper to test it. The bug is still here.
As soon as acpid notices that we're on batteries, the laptop freezes.

I suppose it sets the card in a power saving mode.

It seems not supported yet (cf
/usr/src/linux-source-2.6.15/drivers/net/wireless/rt2500/CHANGELOG), so it
should be deactivated.
Maybe through some acpi-support script...
