Summary: Kernel oops when suspending on 2.6.15-6-686
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: gintas at akl.lt
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I have an installation of breezy with a kernel (and dependencies) from dapper,
version 2.6.15-6.8. Suspending to memory works on the breezy kernel (2.6.12-9),
but not on 2.6.15: when I attempt to perform a suspend manually (echo -n mem >
/sys/power/state), the kernel oopses. After rebooting, the logs don't seem to
have anything useful about the crash, and I was too lazy to write down the
complete oops screen, but I wrote down part of the call stack (which I think is
most important):

ide_pio_sector
task_in_intr
[...]
start_kernel
unknown_bootoption

The crash is reproducible, so if you need any more information, let me know.

In case you're wondering, I had to do the suspending by directly accessing
/sys/power/state because the standard ubuntu suspend script blanks the screen
before suspending, so I could not see the information about the crash.

The machine that has this problem is a Toshiba A15-S157 laptop (P4 2.2GHz, 512MB
RAM, Intel 855GM graphics, integrated wireless card).
