           Summary: sk98lin driver needs updating
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: yonyb at hotmail.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

The driver included with the current version of hoary for amd64, for the Marvell
ethernet chip is outdated.

Out of the box, the installer or the complied sk98lin driver could not detect
the controller on my Asus A8V-E motherboard (uses pci-express).
lsmod listed it as Marvell Tech Group Ltd: Unknown Devide 4362 (rev15)

Downloading the latest driver from
http://www.syskonnect.com/syskonnect/support/driver/htm/sk9elin.htm (currently,
that is 8.23, and that's what I used) and performing the install fixed the problem.

I know from the support forum that other people had problems with the detection
for this motherboard, as it is relativly new.

(Please let me know if I'm missing any glaring details in this bug - its the
first linux related bug I've posted)
