In Breezy this bug exists, albeit in a different form.

You can install the first stage correctly but when the system reboots it gives the following error:

Unable to find volume group "sda1"

ALERT! /dev/sda1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!

I have tried doing modprobe BusLogic and then exec /init with no luck (get the same error).
