Good News!

The front panel mic works on the Breezy live amd64 Colony 3! You can see my
hardware config at the beginning of this Bug report, so that is 100% compatible
as far as I'm concerned!

I wasn't able to take a screenshot of the 'aslamixer' (gnome-screenshot
crashes) but trust me to say that a new control has appeared called 'Mic Front
Input'. If it is set to 'not-muted', then input is captured at the front panel
mic. If it is set to 'muted' then the front panel mic is cut out! That is what I
expected; The 'Mic Select' control is also there, as it was in Hoary+Warty, and
as before it has absolutely no effect on mic inputs.

As far as I'm concerned, you've fixed it!

You have no idea how this makes me happy I am now looking forward to Breezy, not
fearing the loss of my system after update!

You guys are really doing a *GREAT* job! As an IT manger in a big organsiation,
I often use you guys as an example of how good work *can* be done in computing,
with the right organsiation and quality of staff! I am a strong supporter of
free, as in speech, software.

Let me know if there's anything more I can do to help!

check out my blog for more compliments!: http://gratefulfrog.blogspot.com

Again, thanks & keep up the *GREAT* work!
JH
ps. If only they would take Ubuntu on board at work instead of an archaic
version of Redhat...
