This appears to be partly fixed by the latest Breezy kernel update. When I plug
in the AC adapter, this is recognised by acpi. Then when I unplug it, after some
time spent "charged", acpi again recognises that the battery is discharging! So
far so good... However, two problems:
1. the system is quite slow to recognise the change in state (sometimes it is
immediate, other times it can take several minutes).
2. I've had some gnome-panel crashes when plugging in and unplugging the AC,
which I have never had before
I didn't have these problems when trying the kernel patch posted in the upstream
bug (http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3974)
