           Summary: sk98lin driver non-existent, driver from syskonnect does
                    not compile
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: alex.roman at gmail.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

My PCI-e network card in the laptop is a (from lspci):
0000:01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd.: Unknown device
4351 (rev 10)

I know it uses the sk98lin driver, which does not exist in the current breezy
kernel (2.6.12-6).

I downloaded the drivers from syskonnect:
http://syskonnect.com/syskonnect/support/driver/htm/sk9elin.htm

I installed latest development tools (gcc-3.4): apt-get install build-essential
gcc-3.4 g++-3.4

I installed the kernel headers: apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`

cd /usr/src && ln -s linux-headers-`uname -r` linux

I untarred the file cd-ed to DriverInstall, then executed sudo ./install.sh

The installer should have worked (as it did in gentoo for example). Instead it
failed in a mysterious way.

I've attached the console output and the install.log file.
