Summary: powernow causes oops on dual core amd64
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: ijr at case.edu
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

In 2.6.12.x (affecting all current kernel images in Breezy), the powernow-k8
module does not work on dual core machines. It oopses when powernowd attempts
to change the clock frequency, and locks up the machine shortly after.

This can be fixed by the patch attached to:
http://www.x86-64.org/lists/discuss/msg06735.html

It can alternatively be fixed by using the changes to powernow-k8.c from recent
2.6.13-rc versions.
