Summary: Kernel USB drivers broken on Dell Precision 380
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: sdier at cs.umn.edu
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Dell Precision 380 machines won't work right (will stop at the 'Starting
hotplug' at boot and not continue) with USB keyboards if ehci_hcd is loaded
after uhci_hcd. Reversing the behaviour by manually loading them in
/etc/modules and listing them in the hotplug blacklist fixes the problem.

PS2 keyboard is unusable after usb is loaded. This may be a problem with the
machines itself, however (buggy bios?).

Machines were installed with fai without any USB devices plugged in, so I don't
know if the installer has this issue, but the Live CD doesn't work right with
USB keyboards.
