What I figured.
I'll alpha-test new kernel trees if you send me a pointer to them.
I can also do workarounds and other basic cleanups (like the
prototype stuff) if called for.

I was running 2.6.11-02, but got tired of dealing with apparent
bugs in it (hanging on files, maybe a file-locking bug or just
badness in the FS code in general, and of course the
'gam_server' ooops on shutdown) and the lack up updates. Decided to
step back to 2.6.10, and build the latest version of that, but no luck!
