------- Additional Comments From 0rayrr602 at sneakemail.com  2005-04-22 13:32 UTC -------
I have the Sonic Fury card, from Video Logic.
This card is apparently the same as the Santa Cruz, but with European
distributor and branding.
(lspci -v output says this about the card: Subsystem: Voyetra Technologies:
Unknown device 3357)

I got it to work by turning on the "External Amplifier" switch.
(You can make this switch visible in the gnome volume control by clicking
Edit->preference in the
menu and selecting it from the list of available controls)

I also found that fiddling with the "Pre/Post 3D" and "Mic Select" options could
diable the card.
After further fiddling with these controls, and the external amp switch the
card would re-enable.

This web site describes these problems, but seems to suggest this is a probelm
with the 2.6.11 kernels, and 1.0.8 version of Alsa.
