I do not know how to set the Alsamixer to "only the front mic", what do you mean
by '_only'?  I can select mic1 and mic2, but this has no effect.

For info, the front mic worked out of the box on the Warty Live CD (one of the
original reasons why I left Fedora and went to Ubuntu, and I have no regrets,
you guys are great, support is great, developers are nice, too bad there is so
little doc...), but not on the Warty install, and not on the Hoary either. I've
been trying everything imaginable since December...
