Don't do this!  Creating /etc/modprobe.conf will cause all of /etc/modprobe.d
(which contains important configuration) to be IGNORED.

Instead, create a file in /etc/modprobe.d.

Yes, this is counter-intuitive, and yes, we are considering changing it, but
this is the way that upstream wrote it.
