Hello! 

Magnus, could you please attach or send me the output of 

  xxd /mnt/windows/hiberfil.sys | head -12

(you can use 'od -t x2' instead of 'xxd' if it's not installed
by default).

Apparently I could reproduce the problem you have if Windows was 
hibernated and I think I've found the way how to detect hibernated 
Windows. If these are true then I'll add the needed detection to
ntfsresize as soon as I can (Windows hibernation is very rare, 
not the default, suspend/resume the widespread way).
