Is Go JuJu with Local Provider for use with LXC supported yet?

Finally got around to trying Go JuJu.

My previous non-GO JuJu setup for Local use with LXC worked fine with the
following environments.yaml file.

However, after installing the Go JuJu,   I now get the following:
$ juju bootstrap
error: environment "sample" has an unknown provider type "local"

my ~/.juju/environments.yaml is simple:

default: my_lxc
environments:
  my_lxc:
    type: *local*
    admin-secret: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    control-bucket: juju-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    default-series: precise
    data-dir: /home/bmullan/lxc-local



Is LXC not supported in the GO version yet?
