A new release of Juju, juju-core 1.11.2, is now available for testing.

Getting Juju

The location of the PPA has changed, please note the new location.

juju-core 1.11.2 is available from the Juju development PPA

https://launchpad.net/~juju/+archive/devel

New and Notable

 * The logging for various Juju commands and agents has been improved.
 * Juju status now properly displays nested machines
 * Juju status now displays properties about the individual machines;
eg the amount of ram, their cpu power, etc.
 * A new command, add-machine, has been added to the juju cli tool.
Add-machine can be used to prepopulate an environment with machines.
 * Saucy is now supported.

Resolved issues

 * LP #1188815 - add support for Quantum/Grizzly Openstack clouds.
 * LP #1188825 - bootstrapping on Openstack now more robust.
 * LP #1129319 - charms can now be deployed from symlinked directories.
 * LP #1121907 - an incompatibility in the --config file passed to
deploy between Juju 0.7 and Juju 1.11 has been fixed.
 * LP #1130051 - the juju ssh command now waits if the requested
machine is not yet booted.
 * LP #1183320 - the delay between retrying state connection attempts
has been fixed (again)
 * LP #1172973 - the juju sync-tools command no longer requires your
AWS credentials to be passed via environment variables
 * LP #1177835 - deleting an environment no longer fails if the
control bucket contains many files

Configuration changes
---------------------

 * Compatibility issues between Juju 1.10 and Juju 1.11 environment
configurations have been resolved. No action is required.

Testing on Canonistack and HP Cloud
-----------------------------------

A publicly readable bucket has been created for holding the Juju tools
on Canonistack. To use it, put this in your ~/.juju/environments.yaml
(all on one line):
     public-bucket-url:
https://swift.canonistack.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_526ad877f3e3464589dc1145dfeaac60

For HP Cloud the public bucket is available at:
     public-bucket-url:
https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com/v1/60502529753910

As an unstable release we do not yet guarantee a clean upgrade path of
running environments from one 1.11.x version to another. However,
live-upgrades may work now, and will be a supported feature of 2.0.

We encourage everyone to subscribe the mailing list at
juju-dev at lists.canonical.com, or join us on #juju-dev on freenode.
