Small clean-ups to do

Hi all.

That doc has a list of small tasks that people could do quickly.  Look
at the yellow-highlighted ones.  These tasks might be particularly
pertinent for Huw and Ant, though a couple of the tasks would touch some
code from Jeff, so he would be good to consider looking at couple of
them too.

If you tackle some of these, please try to land or at least propose the
branch by your EoD, and otherwise please coordinate with others so
everyone knows what you are doing.
