Wow. I could swear I did not see it when I tried, yet I see it there
too. I'm glad because if there hadn't been one it would have made me
question my understanding of what expose does.

If that's what haproxy does (where the units have no knowledge of each
other) then it's the right tool for the job. I'm already planning on
using a reverse-proxy for SSL and quickly switching to a fail-over
instance, but I'm guessing that won't change (at least for the SSL
needs).
For redundancy I'm also planning on setting up replication on the
postgresql charm, which I'm guessing would have to happen
independently of haproxy. However, that will be easy (the charm
already supports it).
