Generally we are trying to avoid you getting a "state.Machine" object.
That is intended to be inside the API.
So probably we need to talk more about what activity you are trying to
do, and work out how to get you APIs to do that activity. (We are
likely to not have APIs for everything yet, but I would love to focus
on an area where other active development is going on, so we can get
good feedback for having the API match what you are trying to do.)
