There are several more things to do before subordinates, of lifecycles,
are done, but if both pipelines make it through review we'll be in a
strong position.

I will be most grateful for prompt reviews of any of the above; several
already have one LGTM (thanks dimiter!) and I'm feeling pretty
optimistic about them.
