For lxc I started implementing https://launchpad.net/golxc. It's very high-level by simply wrapping the original lxc commands so that I automatically benefit of fixes there. It's in a very early state, by far not supporting all options (only those I needed for the start of the local provider implementation) and not yet tested deeply enough. But so far it's working better and more easy than I originally thought.
