I would like to see this too and at times have had various builders running on Canonistack. I spent some time on this during the second lisbon sprint but was no successful as the tests would not pass in a continuous loop. Now that Zookeeper is long dead, maybe it is time to try again. 

I've asked a few times for details to the internal Jenkins build farm, without success. Please consider this an additional request.

As a shortcut to a solution, I could enable nightly builds of the juju-core PPA. This could be into the main PPA, or into a nightly. As I am almost certain that outside myself, nobody is actually using the release artefacts in the current PPA, I'd feel confident that they would not be inconvenienced.

ps. your point about versioned dependencies is well made, and not something that I feel the Go tool caters for at the moment.
