Thanks for the report. A 150+ minute link time for a small test C
program most certainly indicate a linker bug - did you open a bug report
about that? Sounds like an infinite loop somewhere, worth investigating
separately.

Title:
[FFe] gsasl: FTBFS on s390x in oracular

Status in gsasl package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
During a test rebuild, Graham found out that gsasl FTBFS on s390x on
  Oracular.

The rebuild report is at https://people.canonical.com/~ginggs/ftbfs-
  report/test-rebuild-20240912-oracular-oracular.html (it may update).

The issue is that one of the build steps never finishes (at least not
  within 150 minutes).

The relevant failure is shown (edited) below:

      libtool: link: gcc [...] -o test-parser test_parser-test-parser.o ./.libs/libgsasl-digest_md5.a ../gl/.libs/liblgl.a
E: Build killed with signal TERM after 150 minutes of inactivity

An example of a failed build is at
  https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/test-
  rebuild-20240912-oracular/+build/28965803

I've tried disabling LTO and reducing parallelism but of these two,
only disabling LTO helped. I don't think it is a big concern for this
package which doesn't do a lot of heavy computations itself. This will
be the only delta from Debian so we'll certainly revisit the issue.
