  upgrade failed while calculating upgrade

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Attempted the upgrade four times.
  From:
  Description:    Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS
  Release:        22.04

  to 24.04

  Upgrade Command: 
  pkexec do-release-upgrade -m desktop -f DistUpgradeViewKDE

  I expected the normal upgrade to ocurr.
  While building a package list ( I think ) an error window popped up saying:

  "Could not calculate the upgrade", along with a suspected cause of
  'Unofficial software packages...', and instructions to use the tool
  'ppa-purge'.

  I found the ppa-purge application difficult to use, and had no success
  with it.
