@kangarooo, the bug is still open, a fix was released for oracular only,
there was no update for noble.

  After upgrade Ubuntu-bug says i have modified /etc/init.d/apport. This
  adds one more user question and adds confusion.

  [ Test Plan ]

  `dpkg -s apport` should not list `/etc/init.d/apport` as one of the
  conffiles:

  ```
  $ dpkg --status apport | grep -A 7 ^Conffiles
  ```

  [ Where problems could occur ]

  The fix adds code to the postinst. Issues could arise on package
  upgrade/removal.
