You are using the wrong source for our GRUB, that's up there is a sync
of versions uploaded to the Ubuntu archive.

The primary development repository currently is at
https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-uefi-team/grub/+git/ubuntu (the
"ubuntu" branch is what you want)

  Grub 2.12 in Oracular is unable to boot Windows using chainloader

Bug description:
  I am using Shim 15.8 in combination with GRUB2.12. One of the GRUB
  menu items, chainloader /efi/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi, fails to
  boot, while it works correctly with GRUB2.06. Below is a screenshot of
  the error.
