But I have to admit that I had a hard time to find the correct location
of the upstream repository.

  Triaged

Bug description:
  Regex searches on files with very long lines are extremely slow.
  During the search (can take up to an hour) ^C and ^Z are not working.

  Older versions (less-487 on ubuntu-18.04 and less-530 from opensuse
  leap-15.1) find same regex on same file within one second.

  24.04 affected as well as 22.04.
