  minecraft very laggy on 22.04

Status in openjdk-17 package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  i just updated to 22.04 and minecraft has become almost unplayable.  i
  get so much lag that i cant really control my character.  the fps as
  displayed in the minecraft F3 screen seems to be fine.  i get lag both
  on servers and on single player.
