All servers utilizing Intel VROC
(https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software/virtual-raid-on-cpu-
vroc.html) are unable to install Ubuntu due to this limitation.
MD RAID metadata and all these assembled RAID arrays usually contain a
GPT partition table that the UEFI systems can read (possibly by using
the copy on the end of the disk?) so it works fine to boot the systems
once installed.
The current problem is that it's not possible to install with this
limitation in subiquity (and possibly grub). This seems to have worked
fine in for example 18.04 (per
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/memory-and-
storage/ssd-software/VROC-Ubuntu-Setup-UserGuide-342787-US.pdf), and I
would as such call it a regression.
Please put back space bar heating (https://xkcd.com/1172/).
Best,
Christian

Bug description:
subiquity installer currently does not allow to select md-disk as Installation destination where /, /home and /boot/efi could be created and installed.
Request is to enable this feature so that we can install and boot from md-disk, which our BIOS creates.
