i managed to get the list of "Broken" packages down somewhat, by
removing and updating manually. Then the update manager decided to crash
while doing the preQuirks stuff, leaving the system set to kinetic.

Decided to try to continue manually, and that went fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
