The freeze on shutdown issue is not related to ubuntu-release-upgrader.
Please open a separate bug report for that issue if it still persists
after you upgrade to 22.04.

Bug description:
When I try to shut down my system its just freezed up with a dark
screen and I need to shut down my laptop by force by pressing the
power button. And also I am unable to upgrade my ubuntu from 20.04.5
to the latest version.
