I use some automation to check disk image partitions fsck or after
cloning the partitions while doing fsck on them e2fsck fails. It is all
fine with the Focal and Jammy release versions, but anything created in
Lunar can't be fsck as e2fsprogs doesn't support it.

neither flags on partitions can be removed with tune2fs. It seems like
lunar ubuntu installs media have defaulted adding this flag to the
partition as well during ext4 create.

Can the new updated version of e2fsprogs version back-ports to Focal and
Jammy release updates? to avoid incompatibles of using future ubuntu
distribution created filesystems for disks, disk images be able to use
them?

Title:
External hard disk fails to automount in /etc/fstab with message
  FEATURE_C12

Status in e2fsprogs package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I am having a problem with auto mounting an external 14TB 3.5" hard
disk on Ubuntu 22.04 (arm64) (arm board). The drive is formatted using
ext4 however this was done on a amd64 based Ubuntu 23.04 install
  (laptop).

I tried to automount on the 22.04 install by using /etc/fstab, however
the system would then fail to boot, entering emergency mode.

  Terminal output:
[FAILED]: Failed to start File System Check on /dev/disk/by-uuuid/xx-xx-xx-xx-xx
See 'systemctl status "systemd-fsck at dev-disk-by\\xx\\xx\\xx\\xx\\xx'
  [DEPEND] Dependency failed for /mnt/share/external_14tb_drive

  The particular error is:
  /dev/xxx has unsupported feature(s): FEATURE_C12

  /etc/fstab
  UUID=xx-xx-xx-xx-xx /mnt/share/external_14tb_drive ext4 defaults,noatime,nofail  0       2

The only option I have is to manually mount it after boot which is not
convenient as it a server board.
