[Bug 1990143] [NEW] grub-common update to 2.06-2ubuntu11 broke zfs root boots

Public bug reported:

Running update-grub after updating to grub-common (2.06-2ubuntu11)
causes this issue:

sudo update-grub
Sourcing file `/etc/default/grub'
Sourcing file `/etc/default/grub.d/init-select.cfg'
Generating grub configuration file ...
/etc/grub.d/10_linux_zfs: 1135: Syntax error: end of file unexpected (expecting "fi")
Memtest86+ needs a 16-bit boot, that is not available on EFI, exiting
Warning: os-prober will be executed to detect other bootable partitions.
Its output will be used to detect bootable binaries on them and create new boot entries.

This leads to a grub prompt at boot.

Reverting to grub-common (2.06-2ubuntu7) fixes the issue:

sudo update-grub
Sourcing file `/etc/default/grub'
Sourcing file `/etc/default/grub.d/init-select.cfg'
Generating grub configuration file ...
