Title:
Ubuntu 22.04 desktop ad join dialog doesn't support valid characters
  in username

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
It's perfectly acceptable for AD usernames to include a '.' character,
  but the installer disallows this.

This forces the person running the installer to join later from the
command line, which accepts names with periods in them just fine.

See the following article for a list of invalid sAMAccountName characters:
  https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/11216.active-directory-requirements-for-creating-objects.aspx
