Hi Thomas, you are not alone...

Exactly the same issue.
Unable to update 22.04 from 20.04 due to the same issue (same list of esm files :)

Hi the Ubuntu team, thank you for Ubuntu.

I understand « ...from Focal to Jammy fails if ESM is enabled: »

But how to disable ESM.

As mention here,
https://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/bionic/man1/ua.1.html

I test: `sudo ua status`
and I have got: `This machine is not attached to an Ubuntu Pro subscription.`

I did `sudo disable-esm`
This answer has been: `sudo: disable-esm: command not found`

Please, note, I have never activated ESM (no pro). I have just subscribe to Livepatch.
I have uninstalled the Livepatch app... same issue.

Thank you for your feedback.

José from France.

  SERVICE ENTITLED STATUS DESCRIPTION
esm-infra yes enabled Expanded Security Maintenance for Infrastructure
fips yes disabled NIST-certified core packages
fips-updates yes disabled NIST-certified core packages with priority security updates
livepatch yes enabled Canonical Livepatch service
usg yes disabled Security compliance and audit tools

Unfortunately running `pro disable esm-infra` does, apparently,
nothing and so the workaround is to comment out the relevant lines in
the Apt sources. Then this has to be reversed when the upgrade is
  complete. This shouldn't be necessary.
