** Description changed:

All of my machines use the following setup (desktops, laptops, all of
  it):

- - 2 disks in MD RAID 1
- - Each has EFI, Boot and dm-crypt partitions
- - The dm-crypt partition contains a series of LVM volumes for home, root, swap, etc.
+ - 2 disks
+ - Each has EFI, boot and encrypted partitions
+ - The EFI partitions are not RAID-ed, but are manually sync-ed by a cron job.
+ - The boot partition is an MD RAID 1 volume with an ext4 partition.
+ - The encrypted partition is an MD RAID 1 volume containing a dm-crypt volume containing an LVM VG which contains a series of LVM volumes for home, root, swap, etc.

The issue is that this cannot be created with the 22.04 installer.

If you want full disc encryption, you have to add LVM and encryption
under the "Advanced" menu, but you can't do RAID there.

If you choose "something else", there is no way to create RAID or LVM
  volumes.

Additionally, if you want to use full disk encryption with BRTFS instead
of ext4, you cannot do this either.

All of this used to be possible under the minimal install iso, which saw
  its last release with 20.04.

Suggested changes to the partitioner's "something else" menu:

  1. Add the ability to create "physical device for RAID" partitions.
  1. Add the ability to create MD arrays.
  1. Add the ability to create and manage LVM volumes .

If all of that is implemented, then I would be able to accomplish all of
  the above tasks.
