Dear Marc,
thanks for reporting back. It is not clear for me what you intend to tell me with the link.
Do you tell me that you backported all security fixes from Python 3.6.15
(the latest 3.6) back into your Python 3.6.5?
The ubuntu changelog doesn't indicate that.

Title:
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS has unsecure python 3.6.5 but 3.6.15 with security

Status in python3-defaults package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Hello,
I assume I miss understand some elements of the packaging process in Ubuntu and the LTS politics.
Ubuntu 18.04 (bionic?) has Long Term Support. It seems to me that it
uses Python 3.6.5 (https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/python3). Am I
right so far?
That is an outdated point release because the latest release of the
3.6 branch was 3.6.15
(https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-3615/).
Is this a bug to the "python3" package in "Ubuntu 18.04" or are there
strict/good reasons why it isn't updated?
