I certainly appreciate the effort put into this patch, and the main
inclusion request. Generally speaking, Ubuntu deltas are not appropriate
if they only add a watch file. I would have sponsored this if the MIR
was accepted by the security team. That being said, I'm not comfortable
giving us more work in the long term, since this package will not be
synced automatically.

I think Steve's comments are appropriate. If he's both upstream and the
Debian maintainer, he's going to ensure the package follows the latest
upstream release. If we fall behind for some reason, or it would be
beneficial to include a patch in a stable release, I would consider that
request separately.

discourage you, and I wish you the best of luck.
