[Bug 1987188] Re: Updater tries to remove 'update-manager' and fails

I got this error earlier today. In my case, I only checked the
"Canonical-supported free and open-source software(main)" option in the
Ubuntu Software tab in Software & Updates, and left everything else
unchecked (including external ppa). Then I executed do-release-upgrade
and got the same error of update manager trying to remove itself.

But then I tried to revert back to my normal settings and re-checked all
options in Software & Updates back like it was before trying to upgrade
to 22.04. After that, I run do-release-upgrade again but this time I got
a different error which has been reported here:
