Hi,
Sorry to only report on this, but the machine was at another location. Before trying the:

do-release-upgrade -p

I updated the system with the latest updates (had not been updated since
the time I reported the problem) and tried to run the normal:

do-release-upgrade

Something was changed by the recent updates, because it is running the
upgrade now. Maybe the new version of the "do-release-upgrade" package
solved it.

If you need any info from this system, please let me know.

Will Post again after the upgrade ends.

Title:
Unable to Upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Trying to upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04. Machine was off for the last 2
  years.

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

  This was likely caused by:
  * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge
package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and
  try the upgrade again.

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
  command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If
you want to investigate this yourself the log files in
'/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade.
Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'.

  In main.log and apt.log I only get:

  sudo ack "ERROR Dist-upgrade" /var/log/dist-upgrade
  /var/log/dist-upgrade/20210409-2136/main.log
123:2021-04-09 21:32:27,108 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

  /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log
116:2021-04-09 21:57:40,820 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

  /var/log/dist-upgrade/20210409-2156/main.log
115:2021-04-09 21:45:52,083 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

  /var/log/dist-upgrade/20210409-2144/main.log
115:2021-04-09 21:38:20,080 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

I have no held packages, and there are no packages to upgrade.

  sudo apt upgrade
  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree
  Reading state information... Done
  Calculating upgrade... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

  apt-mark showhold gives nothing.

  I'm at a loss...
