[Bug 1920656] Re: loading Lubuntu 18.04 crashed when I removed the flash drive prematurely

Dear Chris,
Thank you for  having responded in such detail and celerity. Since the Bug
Report was sent to you, I used the All in One System Rescue Toolkit and by
experimentation, cleaned up a few problems in my PC which pre-dated the
Crash of 2021. I then decided to try a Mulligan re-installation of Lubuntu
18.04 LTS from disk. [BTW: both disks were provided to me by my ISP -
National Capital Freenet.] The second attempt at installation worked
perfectly, and I obtained an on-line upgrade to the latest version while
engaged in the process. Entry of a new password was required and upon
completion of the second installation process I can log-in the new version
of the OS with that password being recognised.
I still have the option of start-up in Ubuntu 16.04 , logging in with the
password set up for that version. .Unfortunately my old  Firefox bookmarks
and search history are accessible only through recovery of the old OS. My
system now works very satisfactorily in either process and after spending
most of the last two days in By Guess and By God trouble-shooting, am now a
happy camper. I thought you should know that the guy who broke it fixed it.
I know only that I couldnt' have done it in a Windows environment.
