The log in comment #3 kind of looks like the screen was working. Are you
sure that was during the black screen? Regardless, please try following
the steps in comment #2 again. Please also try installing the official
Nvidia driver using the 'Additional Drivers' app.

  black screen after grub menu

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  After the grub menu and ubuntu selection, sometimes the screen turns
  black. To fix the problem, I installed ubuntu 20.04 and updated the
  bios. It didn’t solve the problem.
