For folks who are still facing this issue, hover the mouse to top left
corner, it should light up, click on it and the window should appear

Bug description:
  When installing Kubuntu 10.10 alpha2 from the Install option (not from
  booting into the LiveCD environment) the installer window has Minimize
  and Close buttons. Once minimized, the user cannot bring the window
  back up (Alt-Tab does not work).

  I did not test what happens when the Close button is clicked!
