About 30 days ago I decided to do the upgrade by doing an install from
an iso disk. This was successful. My system has a separate partition for
my user (dad) so once the OS was installed, I linked dad over dad in
/home/dad. This is working, but there are problems that do-release-
upgrade -p might have eliminated.

Title:
Failed Attempt to Upgrade Kubuntu 18.04 to Kubuntu 20.04
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
"unresolvable problem" reported by apt upgrade.
My Kubuntu 18.04 is kept up to date daily by sudo apt update and sudo
apt upgrade
I have Eclipse 4 which includes python. Looking at the complaints I
see a lot of complaints are about python. Do I need to purge all
python, reinstall, etc. Please provide a remedy.
The info below is what remains on terminal screen after the upgrade
attempt. I looked at /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log and /var/log/dist-
upgrade/apt.log and mostly see python complaints.
