It could be related to the KVM host running out of disk space... but I'm
not entirely sure as I cannot reliably reproduce it.

Title:
ZFS installation crashes while loading modules

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Fresh install of Ubuntu 20.10 20201021 inside qemu/kvm.
Crashes in step 19 "Wait for the installer to finish" of http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/418/builds/222045/testcases/1716/results

Seems to happen only the first time after a new virtual disk was
created. If I reboot into the installer again after it crashed, it
  installs successfully the 2nd time.
