As of today this issue has been fixed and sound works as expected.
Probably due to a kernel update?

Bug description:
In 20/04 sound worked via headphones worked fine. After upgrade no
sound is heard and the audio output device list only has HDMI and
S/PDIF as possible choices. Windows 10 on the same machine works
without problems.
